History of the course

The Sumac Hills course was started in the woods at the Ray farm with a few simple buckets and hubcaps hanging from trees for targets. It is evolving every year and now has TWO CHAIN TARGETS, creamery can targets, signs and 18 holes.

Driving Directions
From Twin Cities take 94 west one mile past Alexandria to HWY MN 27 exit to Hoffman. Take HWY 27 left to Hoffman. Then right (NW) on MN HWY 55 to the second crossroads. Take a right (N) at crossroads over the railroad and follow the gravel road 2 1/2 miles.
From Barrett Take the paved road (county road 2) east from Barrett for 4 miles. Turn right (S) at gravel road for 1 mile.
From points north of Alexandria on 94 take Elbow Lake exit to Barrett. Turn east at Bank (county road 2). Follow pavement 4 miles east. Turn right (S) at gravel road.
